OUR TALENT:
Drive Train will be performing for us this evening! Ed Howe plays fiddle like a boss and Bennett Konesni plays guitar and tickles us with his singing occasionally. These are two cool people. Ed was half of Perpetual e-Motion and is now inventing bands, collaborating and improvising like a boss. Bennett is a steward of traditional music and worksongs. If we're really lucky, he'll lead us in some social singing.
Sound of Perfection will be providing sound this evening. It'll be good!
Here's Ed improvising as half of Barefoot:
And here's Bennett playing and singing a traditional song as half of Edith & Bennett:
Dugan Murphy, Contra Dance Caller, is the acclaimed caller who brought you neon t-shirts, raucous pants, and hundreds of fun dance experiences across the U.S. He'll call half the evening, and will welcome new Maine caller Gretchen Carroll as the caller for the reminder of the evening. He'll also be introducing Cecile Leroy, a new caller from Massachusetts (and a talented musician, too), who will teach a dance or two!
AND AFTER:
Join us from 10 p.m. 'til close for snacks and drinks just down the street at Local 188 (just West of Longfellow Square). They've created a new tapas menu just for us, and will offer PICD dancers a discount on drinks and grub. Sweet, ain't they? All ages welcome!
DIRECTIONS AND PARKING:
Directions may be found on the State Street Church website.
Parking is free after 6pm on street around the State Street/West End neighborhood. We recommend saving extra time, as it might take a bit to find a spot.
