Greg & Jessie Boardman will be performing for us tonight! They perform using a slew of folk instruments including: fiddles, viola, cello, guitar, whistle, and pump organ. They play in classical and folk (New England, French Canadian and Maritime) traditions.

Greg has taken his fiddle to places in Maine and beyond since the early 1970’s, playing alone, in duos, or in bands like the Northern Valley Boys, Kennebec Valley Boys, Maine Country Dance Orchestra, Canterbury Dance Orchestra, Moosetones, Old Grey Goose, Timbrel, Boardman and Sons, and the Gawler Family. He's a culture keeper in our Maine traditional music community, and has shown his love by co-founding the East Benton Fiddlers’ Convention and the Maine Country Dance Fiddle Workshop, and founding Maine Fiddle Camp.

Jessie for contra and family dances across New England, and she sometimes sneaks the cello into dance sets. Jessie teaches fiddle to all ages at Maine Fiddle Camp, Sandy Island Suzuki Camp, at workshops, and in her private studio.

Dugan Murphy, Contra Dance Caller, is the acclaimed caller who brought you neon t-shirts, raucous pants, and hundreds of fun dance experiences across the U.S.

Alex Hennings, a developing caller from Maine, will also teach a few dances!

Join us from 10 p.m. 'til close for snacks and drinks just down the street at Local 188 (just West of Longfellow Square). They've created a new tapas menu just for us, and will offer PICD dancers a discount on drinks and grub. Sweet, ain't they? All ages welcome!
